Eldon Ray Wolfe, 86, Dead in Trinity County Head-On Car Accident

Eldon Ray Wolfe, an 86-year-old resident of Weaverville, has been identified by authorities as the deceased in an automotive collision that occurred on October 29 in Trinity County. Mr. Wolfe was driving a Subaru Legacy sedan on Highway 299 near Highway 3 at roughly 9:00 p.m. when a GMC Sierra driven by Andrew John Carey, 50 and also a resident of Weaverville, crossed over double yellow lines into opposing traffic and had a head-on collision with Mr. Wolfe’s Subaru. Authorities say they believe that Mr. Carey was experiencing a medical episode, such as a seizure, at the time of the event. Mr. Wolfe apparently died at the scene. The driver of the SUV and four other people who were passengers in both vehicles were treated for a variety of apparently non-life-threatening injuries. The deadly mishap is under investigation.

We extend our deepest condolences to the friends and family of the deceased during this difficult time and our thoughts go out to the injured..
