Edward Thorp Dead in Long Beach Motorcycle Accident

Edward Thorp has been identified by authorities as the victim in a Long Beach motorcycle collision that occurred on December 13. Mr. Thorp was driving his motorcycle on Ocean Boulevard in Long Beach at approximately 8:00 in the evening. Police say that he was driving at a very high rate of speed and rear-ended a 2008 Acura, resulting in his death. The driver of the Acura remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities, according to the Long Beach Police. The incident is currently under investigation. Mr. Thorpe was 58.
