Edgar Rolando Pinedo has been identified by authorities as the deceased in an alleged street accident that occurred on March 29 in Woodlands Hills, a Los Angeles neighborhood in the San Fernando Valley area. Mr. Pinedo was driving a Toyota Tacoma pickup on Winnetka Avenue at approximately 10:00 p.m., when he began a left-turn onto Ventura Boulevard. A Mercedes-Benz C300 allegedly driven by a 17-year-old male who was driving rapidly and recklessly, ran through a red light and crashed into the Toyota on the driver side. Mr. Pinedo died at the scene while the Mercedes allegedly continued driving, later colliding with two additional vehicles. The youth and his female passenger, also a minor, were hospitalized with less severe injuries. The boy who was driving the Mercedes was later charged with murder. The incident is under investigation.
