A 22-year-old Cathedral City resident died after her car rolled over on Dillon Road near Berdoo Canyon Road.
Riverside County, CA, October 1, 2021 — Desiray Ramirez has been identified by authorities as the victim in a solo collision that occurred on September 29 in the Indio Hills section of Riverside County. Desiray Ramirez, a 22-year-old resident of Cathedral City, was driving a Nissan Altima on Dillon Road near Berdoo Canyon Road with one passenger. At about 8:50 a.m., reports indicate that the young woman started to pass a slower vehicle but then veered off the road while trying to avoid a collision with a third vehicle. The result was that the car overturned. Neither person in the car was wearing a seatbelt, reports say, and both people were thrown from the car. First-responders arrived but Desiray Ramirez died at the scene. The passenger was seriously injured and taken by air to Desert Regional Medical Center. The California Highway Patrol is seeking out the help of witnesses as it investigates the tragic collision.
