A 72-year-old local resident using a mobility scooter was killed on East Valley Parkway by a driver who allegedly fled the scene.
Escondido, CA, October 11, 2021 — David Cisneros has been identified by authorities as the victim in an alleged hit-and-run collision while he was on a mobility scooter that occurred on October 9 in Escondido. David Cisneros, a 72-year-old local resident, was attempting to cross an unmarked part of the street at East Valley Parkway using a mobility scooter. At roughly 9:35 p.m., he was struck by a vehicle that continued heading eastward on the street, sources say. A police officer reportedly saw the incident and other first-responders arrived. The man received multiple serious injuries and was taken to the emergency unit of Palomar Medical Center. Despite the efforts of doctor, the victim passed away from his injuries the next day. The Escondido Police Department is investigating the case.
