Daniel Andrade Dead after Santa Barbara County Head-on Accident

Daniel Anthony Andrade has been identified by authorities as the deceased in a head on accident that occurred on May 15 in Santa Barbara County. Mr. Andrade, a 21-year-old San Luis Obispo resident, was driving a older model Honda Accord eastward in the vicinity of Lake Cachuma on Highway 154 prior to 6:00 p.m. Authorities say that he was driving at a high rate of speed and driving in a reckless fashion, passing vehicles in an unsafe manner. He collided head on with a Ford Fusion being driven by a 40-year-old woman from New Mexico. First responders took the young man by air to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital where he died from his injuries. The woman driving the Ford Fusion was also seriously injured.

We extend our deepest condolences to the friends and family of the deceased during this difficult time and our thoughts also go out to the injured woman.
