Daisean Washington has been identified by authorities as the deceased in an accident that occurred in San Bernardino on April 9. Mr. Washington, 18, was a passenger in a Kia Soul being driven by Garyon Jaquise Perkins, 19. The car was apparently stolen and it was being pursued by authorities prior to 1:00 a.m. when it collided with a parked vehicle and a telephone poll at or near the intersection of 16th Street and Medical Center Drive. Mr. Washington had perished from his injuries prior to the arrival of first-responders, reports indicate. Mr. Perkins – who allegedly initially provided a false name before providing his actual name – was badly injured and taken for treatment prior to his arrest. The case remains under investigation.
We extend our deepest condolences to the friends and family of the deceased during this difficult time.
