Cynthia Carey has been identified by authorities as the deceased in a collision involving three vehicles that occurred in Capitola on March 26. Ms. Carey was in a vehicle described as a Smart Car at approximately 10:00 a.m. near the intersection of Clares Street and 41st Avenue when her car was reportedly struck from behind by a van and apparently pushed into the path of an off duty bus with a number of occupants. Ms. Carey, a 60-year-old resident of Mount Hermon, reportedly perished from her injuries at the scene of the accident. The tragic incident is under investigation.
