Christopher Jones has been identified by authorities as the victim in an alleged hit-and-run bicycle accident that occurred July 3 in Desert Hot Springs. Mr. Jones was riding a bicycle at around 5:30 a.m. on Two Bunch Palms Trail in the vicinity of Cholla Drive. Authorities say that Mr. Jones, 43-years-old and a resident of Palm Springs, was struck by a Lexus IS250 sedan and that the driver did not stop or attempt to help Mr. Jones, leaving him. First-responders arrived but reported that the man had died at the scene. The Desert Hot Springs Police Department detectives is investigating and seeking witnesses.
