Amador County, CA, November 19, 2020 — Rebecca Swafford and Brandon Harris has been identified by authorities as the deceased in traffic collision that occurred on November 13 in Amador County. Rebecca Swafford, 39, and her boyfriend, Brandon Harris, 43, were travelling on Highway 49 in a Jeep Grand Cherokee at about 3:00 p.m., with Ms. Swafford’s three-year-old son, Luka Sheek, in back. Reports attributed to the California Highway Patrol indicate that the Jeep made a turn into a lane of traffic, where it collided with a pickup truck. A witness to the crash told reporters that, by the time she ran up to the Jeep, the couple inside were already dead. Fortunately, little Luka was alive but unconscious. He was taken to UC Davis Medical Center and later put into a medically induced coma. Some reports indicate that brain damage may be a factor.
