Branden Smith, 19, Killed in Twentynine Palms Single-Car Accident

Branden Smith has been identified by authorities as the deceased in a pedestrian collision following a multi-vehicle accident that took place in Twentynine Palms on January 20. Mr. Smith, 19-year-old local resident, was riding in a Hyundai auto on Gold Park Road at about 6:45 p.m., when the car hit a patch of earth after the car went out of control. Mr. Smith was thrown from the car. First responders took him to the Hi-Desert Medical Center where he died within less than an hour. The condition of the driver has not been stated at this time. The accident remains under investigation.
