Benjamin Romayor has been identified by authorities as the deceased in an alleged DUI head-on collision that occurred August 22 in Lompoc. Mr. Romayor, a 68-year-old local resident, was driving a mid-1990s Ford pick-up truck at about 6:30 a.m. on Harris Grade Road. Meanwhile, a vehicle described as recent model white BMW driven by Isaac Valentino DeLuna, a 20-year-old local resident, was heading in the opposite directions. Authorities allege that Mr. DeLuna crossed over into the opposite directly into the path of Mr. Royamor’s truck, leading to the fatal head-on crash. Mr. Romayor was found dead by first-responders. Mr. DeLuna was treated for minor injuries. He was later charged with vehicular manslaughter and DUI drunk driving with his blood alcohol exceeding the legal limit of .08 percent.
We extend our deepest condolences to the friends and family of the victim during this very difficult time.
