A 60-year-old local resident was riding a bicycle on Eucalyptus Drive prior to being fatally struck by a Honda Civic near Fairfax Road.
Bakersfield, CA, November 22, 2021 — Barbara Ann Moorhouse has been identified by authorities as the victim in bicycle and car collision that occurred on November 16 in Bakersfield. Barbara Moorhouse, a 60-year-old local resident was riding a bicycle on Eucalyptus Drive when the incident took place. According to information attributed to the California Highway Patrol, at about 5:45 p.m. the bicyclist travelled past Fairfax Road and somehow ended up in the path of a Honda Civic. First-reponders arrived and attempted to help the gravely injured victim who nevertheless passed away on the scene. The CHP has said that the driver of the Civic remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities and a DUI is not suspected. Nevertheless, an investigation into the cause of the accident is ongoing.
