Contra Costa, CA November 20, 2020 — Amber Russell has been identified by authorities as the deceased victim in a solo sports car collision that occurred on November 17 in Contra Costa. Amber Russell, a 20-year-old resident of Milpitas was a passenger in an early 2000s Nissan 350z sports car that was heading northward on Interstate 680 at about 10:25 a.m. The driver was a 22-year-old male, also from Milpitas. The California Highway Patrol has told publications that, for reasons not yet provided, the driver veered into a wall near the Highway 4 exit, resulting in the car careening through traffic and off the highway. While the driver was seriously injured, he is expected to survive. Amber Russell died at the scene.
