Adrienne Bates has been identified by authorities as the victim in a pedestrian collision that occurred on April 28 in Long Beach. Ms. Bates, a 54-year-old Cudahy resident, reportedly was crossing the Artesia Boulevard outside of a crosswalk by a vehicle described as a pickup truck. Some reports say that the woman may have run into traffic. The driver of the pickup reportedly stopped at the scene and cooperated with the authorities. An investigation is ongoing.
