A man was killed after colliding with several trees and hitting a concrete wall in Merced, the Merced Police Department said.
Officers responded Tuesday morning at around 4:49 a.m., to the 1400 block of Dunn Road for reports of a collision.
Officers arrived and located a 2014 Silver Mercedes Benz with a 43-year-old male deceased. Police say the driver was the only occupant of the vehicle.
The driver of the vehicle was traveling Westbound on Dunn Road at a high rate of speed, the driver lost control and collided into multiple trees and a concrete wall Merced Police said.
The driver sustained major injuries and died at the scene.
At this time it’s unknown if alcohol is a factor in the collision. Merced Police traffic division personnel are actively working this investigation to determine the exact cause of the collision.
